Jeremie Samuel was born in Pensacola, Florida on January 5, 1987. He attended Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in English in 2010. While studying at Florida State University in Tallahassee, he developed a strong desire to reconnect with his ancestry. Samuel begin to read literature on the ancient history of Africa and America. Jeremie Samuel specializes in Moorish and Pre-Columbian American history. In 2015, through observations in his hometown of Pensacola, he applied the research and his writing skills to bring about a new perspective of history in his first published book, “The Moorish Essence of Pensacola”. Later Summer 2016, he created the children’s book, “Do You Know Estevanico”.
He continued to study and came upon information that there were ancient pyramids on the side of the earth that he lives. At Florida State University, he had spent hours in the library researching this little-known history. Samuel watched videos online where Ivan Van Sertima spoke about the Olmec, and he read Van Sertima’s book, “They Came Before Columbus”.
When he saw the colossal heads with phenotypical features like his ancestry, the inquisitive spark was renewed within his mind through witnessing the majesty of the 'Egypt in the West'. Samuel came to know that he had connections with those Ancient American kings who carved their portraits in basalt stone.
In various dominions of the Olmec Empire of Ancient America, people from the same culture corresponded with each another across the Gulf of Mexico, their name being Ochusi: Children of the Sun. Jeremie Samuel discovered that the oldest name of the city he was born in was Ochusi. Ultimately, becoming reacquainted with the Orisha of Ancient West Africa, he discovered that the attributes of the Orisha Ochosi and his culture resided in Ancient America. This birthed his most extensive book titled “The Ochusi People: Childeren of the Sun”.
With passions in ancestral knowledge, history, and culture, Samuel’s aspirations are to share his findings through lectures, publications, and the industry of tourism.
